Pune, Sep 30 (The Press Watch) – The Election Commission of India has been emphasizing on the use of modern technology to assist the voters and the commission has made available the ‘C Vigil’ application along with ‘PWD’ and ‘Voters Helpline’ applications for the forth coming Assembly elections.
PWD application is for divyaang people. All three apps are available on the Google Play Store.
Complaint for any type of violation of the Model Code of Conduct can be reported directly to the Election Commission of India. To report false and fabricated news related to election, loss of public property, distribution of money to voters, distribution of alcohol or drugs, illegal display of weapons, intimidation to get vote, speech related to communal hate, money to publish the news (paid news), free distribution of goods, free transport services etc. the common civilian can use this powerful app called ‘C Vigil’.
The election commission said that if anyone finds that a code of conduct is being violated, then the person should take a photo or make video and should upload the photos or video to this app. The Election Commission will take care of this complaint and take appropriate action.
The PWD app has been developed to make it easier for people with disabilities to vote in the assembly election. This will facilitate easy registration of persons with disabilities, new voter registration, transfer of name in the voter, amendment or omission of voter list, request for wheelchair, search of polling station, status of application and so on.
The ‘Voters Helpline’ app makes it easy to find the name of voters in the voter list, new applications or the transfer of name in the voter list. Election services can be lodged and adjusted on this app. The information related to voting, elections, EVMs, resolution of doubts, election schedule, information about the candidates, information of election officials, list of candidates who are contesting the election can be found on this app. This app also has the facility to upload selfies after voting.
