Pune, 1 Dec (The Press Watch) – “Bridgestone in the endeavour to promote and empower women in diversified fields as part of their CSR is doing work in varied fields with FLO Pune. As a corporate Bridgestone truly believes that serving society and uplifting women by making them financially independent, in turn uplifts the entire family and on a broader level contributes to a greater level in the growth and progress of the country.
Mr. Parag Satpute – Managing Director Bridgestone India said that FICCI FLO’s initiatives are very close to us and in tune with our CSR programs and together both organisation’s can create a positive impact in the lives of women from different strata. Bridgestone is very happy to associate with FICCI FLO for Pune FLO Half Marathon for the second consecutive year and hope this association and enriching contributions from both organisations continue in the years to come.
Currently 200 girls have completed their training and we hope with more initiatives in the future we can as a team impact , mentor and empower move lives. Training to these young girls of Heydeedee as home delivery personnel included safety training, self defence on road safety as well as helmets were given to the girls to ensure safe practices while driving.
This ceremony was graced by Ritu Prakash Chhabria, Chairperson FLO Pune Chapter, Aneeta Sanas, Sr. Vice Chairperson, Usha Poonawalla, Vice Chairperson, Anita Agarwal, Joint Treasurer of FICCI FLO, Neelam Seolekar- Treasurer , Ranu Kulshrestha, CSR Head, Bridgestone, Ajay Sevakari, Executive Director Quality Management, Bridgestone and team HeyDeeDee along with team FLO Pune.
Expressing her views on the training program, Ritu Chhabria Chairperson FLO said, “Completion of this course by young women riders has been a culmination of efforts of all partner organizations in coming together to give wings to these girls’ dreams, and empowered them in becoming financially independent.
With this focus in mind for both organisations a new MOU was signed with Bridgestone, Tata Strive and FICCI FLO to train and empower 147 girls over the next few months in the field of general duty assistant, business development executive and auto sales from the funds that will be generated from this year’s marathon scheduled for 8th December 2019 at Magarpatta city, she added.
