Beed, 4 Dec (Vedika Motale) – The Beed police has launched a new initiative named “kavach” for women’s safety, in view of increasing number of violence. This project is a new form of “Buddycop”. But due to lack of effective implementation of previous project, and the recent incident happened in Hyderabad, Beed police have taken this step.
Under this initiative, women who are unsafe in any area of the district from 9pm to 6am will be taken to safer place by police after being informed through the helpline number – [02442-222666] [1091].
A WhatsApp group will also be created by women “Buddycop” from every police station to operate out of the area and women can register their grievances to the group.
To carry out this program, there will be a new female recruit in every police station. This information was given by Superintendent of Beed police Harsha Poddar.
The initiative will not only provide security and support to the women’s but also set a good example for Maharashtra Police.
