Pimpri, 4 Dec (The Press Watch) – Sindhi Premier League, a nonprofit making cricket tournament inaugurated on Monday, 2 Dec at Mrunal Cricket ground, Pimpri. This league is kept with a motive of uniting the Sindhi community and also aiming at the importance of fitness.
Kailas Ghatani, former Ranji Player & Patel Jawaharani, former principal of Jay Hind High school were present as guest for the opening ceremony.
Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti (Student Welfare Association), a NGO working for rural students and Suhurd Mandal, NGO, working for Deaf and Dump children’s felicitated with cheque worth Rs. 50K each as donation. Representatives from both organization spoken about their work and given thanks to SPL organizing team.
Tukaram Gaikwad, Executive Trustee of SWA, Dinkar Vaidya & Nandkumar Talekar, Trustee of SWA and Shrikant Sarpotdar, Chairperson of Suhrud Mandal along with Hitesh Dadlani, Kanwal Khiani, Kamal Jethani, Ankush Mulchandani, Naresh Nasha, Avi Tejwani, Karan Aswani, Ravi Daryani, Avi Israni & others were present were present on this occasion.
Post this inauguration matches began. First match of the tournament played between Mast Kalandars & Sindhful Rangers. Sindhful Rangers won the match in a super over. Second match Dada Vaswani brigade won against Mohenjodaro Warriors while third match Indus Dynamos won against Gurunanak Knights. All the matches & Scores was live on Facebook and a scoring app for all the people who are unable to make it to the ground.
In this tournament matches will be played for 16 days with closing day being on the 18th of December i.e. the mega finals.
Kailas Ghatani said, “This is very important initiative taken by Sindhi youth. It will helps to promote sports culture in the community. Just playing with tennis ball is good thing but youngsters get to play cricket with the proper equipped. I would like to see Sindhi Premier League producing some outstanding young cricketers not only in Maharashtra but all over India. any sports take you healthy & better human being. I would like see you on the national and international tournaments.”
Patel Jawaharani mentioned that, with the sports this Sindhi youngsters come up with donations to organizations helping Education for the needy students is the good idea. Sindhi’s are doing enough to corporate. with this we have to contribute the society and nation.
