Aurangabad, 10 Dec ( Kalyani Pawar) – Even after the notification issued in 2001 by the department of Rituals and Justice of the Maharashtra State government it’s been 19 years that no any serious action has been seem to be taken to set up Human Rights Court at district level in the Maharashtra, Advocate Assim Sarwade said.
He was expressing his views during a press meet specially organised regarding International Human Rights Day.
Due to delay in setting up Human rights court at every district level in the state a public interest writ petition has been jointly submitted in the Mumbai high court by Adv.Sarwade and Sahiyog Trust. In which principal secretary of the state, secretory of the law and Justice department of the state, Director general of police and the legal services authority has been made defendant.
Briefing the press meet Adv Sarwade said, every year 10th Dec is observed as International Human Rights Day. Today it’s a need to setup Human rights court in every district of the state.
Regarding this Rituals and Justice department of the state had issued a notification in 2001 to start such courts in every district of the state. But till the day today it’s been pending and government is seem to be interestless.
In 2009 the state government had also issued a notification to appoint government lawyers in such courts. But that to was not fulfilled and so without waisting time such courts must be setuped.
