Pune, 19 Jan (The Press Watch) – Social activist Dr. Kalyan Gangwal have working for the vegetarian and addiction free society has been awarded with ‘Shakahar Dharmdoot’ award for his incomparable contribution, by Jain Shikshan Sanstha, PU Jain Trust and Digambar Jain Samaj in Aurangabad.
Dr. Kalyan along with Dr Chandrakala received this award at the hands of trust’s president Mahavir Sethi, trustee Aashadevi Kaala, Treasurer Dr. Ramesh Badjate. This event was attended by respectable industrialists and social activists from jain samaj in Aurangabad. Dr. Chandrakala Gangwal donated Rs 51 thousand rupees to PU Jain Balak Mandir for the uniforms of the needy children.
Dr. Gangwal said, this is the honor of the work that has been done for vegetarian society, ahimsa and compassion towards animals for over fifty years. ‘Ahimsa parmo dharma’ is the basic ‘tatwa’ of Jain samaj and this lifestyle is considered to be the best in the world. Only the thoughts of Bhagwan Mahaveer can save this world from challenges like global warming, violence and degrading environment. It gives immense pleasure to receive this award.”
