Pune district on Monday reported six deaths due to coronavirus disease (COVID-19). This has sum up to 115 total number of COVID-19 patients’ death.
Meanwhile, 71new COVID-19 cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases in Pune district to 2,122. However on the same day, 54 patients were discharged after recovery from various hospitals in the district, taking the total to 553.
Five deaths reported on Monday occurred at five different hospitals in PMC limits and all the deceased were suffering from co-morbid conditions. A 52-year-old woman from Bhawani Peth died at Symbiosis hospital due to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with renal dysfunction. She was COVID-19 positive and was undergoing treatment since April 23. She was also obese.
Meanwhile, a 58-yearold cop attached to Farskhana police station died at Bharati Hospital, due to septic shock with multiple organ failure. He was obese and known case of hypertension and diabetes. A 50-year-old man from Shivajinagar, who was COVID-19 positive, died in Aundh district hospital with complications due to pneumonia and asthma. He was also suffering from hypertension. Similarly, another 65-year-old man from Yerawada died at Sahyadri Hospital, Nagar Road due to ARDS.
Three patients have tested positive for the virus in PCMC limits on Monday. Of these, two are from areas while one is a resident of Pimpri-Chinchwad. A 32-year-old male from Charoli (PCMC) tested positive for the virus. Another 32-year-old male and 49-year-old female from Bopodi and Tadiwala Road tested positive for the virus on Monday.
Public health minister visits Pune
Due to continue rise in number of COVID-19 cases in Pune and to avoid a further outbreak, public health minister Rajesh Tope has asked to start a single window system where citizens will get all facilities at one point.
He visited Pune monday take a review of the preparedness and took rounds of Sassoon hospital. The minister has asked officials to provide immediate treatment to patients and decrease the death rate. He ordered that COVID-19 patients undergoing treatment in hospitals should be provided adequate facilities with good food and water, clean toilets and so on.
