Sindhi youth donate 50 Thousand Each To Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti and Surhud Mandal
Pune, 21 Dec (The Press Watch) – Saint Kanvaram Royals defeated Mohenjodaro Warriors by 16 runs in the season II of the Sindhi Premier League and lifted the trophy. The final match of the tournament was played at the Mrunal Gardens Lawn, Pimpri.
Saint Kamvaram Royals decided to bat first and scored 60 runs in 12 overs after losing six wickets. Pankaj Ramwani scored the highest runs with 23 from 29 balls. He was supported well on the other end by Dheeraj Dhodwani (14) and Param Nankani (10) runs.Bowlers Kunal Ramchandani took two wickets giving away 15 runs while Somesh Gidwani took one wicket at the expense of 12 runs.
The Mohenjodaro Warriors had a challenging target of 61 runs in 12 overs. They had a bumpy start as captain Bunty Meghnani was out on the second ball for a duck after getting clean bowled. On the following ball, bowler Kunal Motwani got Harsh Relwani out after he scored just one run. In the tenth over, Rahul Advani was out on a duck after he was run out and Mohenjodaro Warriors were all out.
Among them, Kunal Ramchandani, Prakash Asudani and Somesh Gidwani scored seven runs each to emerge highest run scorers. Param Nankani (14 runs, 2 wickets) and Dheeraj Dhodwani (14 runs, 1 wicket) and Kunal Motwani (7 runs, 1 wicket) bowled well to get the opposition all out before reaching the target.
Kunal Dhodwani (294) was highest run scorer of the tournament while Vicky Chanchlani (16) emerged highest wicket-taker of the tournament. While the Fair Play Award was given to Indus Dynamos.
During this match former Ranji player Kailas Ghatani, former principal of Jai Hind High School, Patel Jawaharani, Rohit Motwani, industrialist Ganesh Kudale, organiser Kawal Khiyani, Hitesh Dadlani, Kamal Jethani, Ankush Mulchandani, Naresh Nasha, Karan Aswani, Avi Tejwani, Avi Israni, Ravi Daryani, among others were present.
Live broadcast of the Sindhi Premier League was held through Facebook Page. The tournament was held over 16 days and 12 teams participated in the tournament. From the Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti, working trustee Tukaram Gaikwad, trustee Dinkar Vaidya, Nandkumar Talekar and from Surhud Mandal chairman Shrikant Sarpotdar, Anuradha Phatarpod, Rajni Phadke accepted the donation.
The money collected through this tournament was given as donations to the organisations. The Vidyarthi Sahayak Samiti is working for betterment of rural students whereas the Surhud Mandal is working for dumb and deaf impaired. Each organisation received a donation of 50 thousand each.
